Terrell W. Stephens: This unit is adequate but certainly not outstanding. Waffles are "thin" regardless of how you prepare the mix. The unit takes a few minutes to cook. So if you are being visited by you kids and their kids, start early before anyone sits at the table. Adjusting the dial for more crisp waffles do not yield good results.
T. R. KINSLEY: After seasoning the iron as directed, I made my first waffle--disaster. It stuck and pulled apart, so I had two stuck halves. I had to scrape it out with a plastic tool. Then, I sprayed Pam--still stuck partially. [bad] for the money charged--don't buy this.
Zigurd Mednieks "Zigurd": The non-stick does not let waffles stick. The automatic ready indicator works for both heating and cooking. The hinge is articulated so the waffles come out with uniform thickness. The edge of the hot part of the iron has a channel to catch excess batter, and, if that overflows, the plastic surrounding the iron has another channel to prevent batter dripping on your counter. The settings for crispness work. The recipe that comes with it is tasty. A perfect product. The ready indicator has an audible beep, which is great if you are absent-minded before coffee and multi-task while making waffles, but may be annoying to some people.Don't try to squeeze the batter with the lid, let the weight of the lid do the work. The waffles will generally adhere to the lid more than the base, but peel off very easily if pricked with a fork at the edge, with no waffle bits left on the iron.
bedrestmom: This is excellent parchment. The product deserves 5 stars, not 2 because of shipping costs!!The is 100% unbleached parchment, which I love. And it's a nice sized roll, too.
delicateflower152: I love this parchment paper for baking; it allows me to produce great baked goods. I use it for lining almost any pan in which I'm baking something and any pan which I'm using in the fudge-making process. The paper molds easily, unlike the stiffer white paper that is available in the grocery store. It releases bagel dough into the boiling water without undue sticking that would deform the product. However, I hate the box that Frontier uses; if the paper were this bad, it would rate one star. The box is flimsy; the glue on the ends rarely sticks, and I usually have to tape the box together before I can even use the papaer. There is no metal cutter on the box, so one either must use scissors or attempt to cut with the rippled box edge. The price on this paper has gotten much higher than when I originally began using it. I'm switching brands to another unbleached paper and will do a review on the product once I receive it.
