S. L. Teachout: Nicer fry cutter than I expected. A bit of effort is needed when you start to cut the potato, but once past that all is well.Shipped well and arrived with the cool daddy fryer I also bought.
smitty from pa: don't waste your money , to small for even small potatos
Steven Reed: Works very good as long as you use small potatoes.Med/large potatoes will not fit unless you cut them, giving yousmaller fries. For the price I would recommend this.
Sylvia L. Hayes "Sylvia Hayes": I bought this because at one restaurant my husband ordered their hash browns that were just the size of french fries that had been cubed, I did it one time and said if he wanted this I would have to find an easier way than a simple knife to cut it up. I thought the blades might break easily, but was surprised how easily they slip through when you cut the potatoes say in half. I got my nerve up to try the sweet potato fries which I am crazy about, but what a pain to try and cut those with a knife. They were not hard at all to pass through the cutter and now I make my husbands fries or hash browns, and my sweet potato fries in the same meal it is so easy to use. I put my cut up potatoes in a plastic bag, pour in some olive oil, shake the bag, put them on a cookies sheet season and we are both happy. I don't deep fry fries, my husband is a heart patient.Update 11/27/09Still using it and still love it. I gave my son one from Harbor Freight, but his broke shortly after I gave it to him.
Tammy Erwin: I purchased this item because I have a hard time cutting potatoes to make french fries. So I thought this item might help me in resolving that issue. This is a nice item, it comes with 2 different cutters & cutting blocks for small fries, or larger fries. The only 2 issues that I have with this item is 1) I am a short person and my cabinets are kinda tall so I have a hard time pushing the lever to get it started to "squeeze" the potato through, and the 2nd issue I have is that its really not long enough so you have to cut some longer potatoes in half in order to use them. Otherwise this is a great item and I hope to be able to use it for quite awhile. I hate having to try and cut potatoes to make french fries with a knife, so this little item helps to elminate that problem. I would purchase this item again, and for $12 what do you have to lose?
