Bill: I love my wire whisks, but every now and then, I found myself at a loss not having a synthetic whisk I was willing to use on my non-stick pans. Now I have my solution.
Capcyclone: Perhaps my expectations were set too high given my typical like of OXO products, but I found this balloon whisk to be inappropriately large for daily use of mixing items. This, and the fact that the silicon "wires" are far too flexible to put any muscle into anything you may be mixing with this whisk. Anything short of mixing thin liquids leaves this whisk sitting in the sink while I retrieve a traditional wire whisk. As an example, even beating some eggs in a bowl to make scrambled eggs - this whisk doesn't have enough stiffness to mix up eggs well.Sorry OXO, but that drops you to a "it's okay" rating of 3 stars.
C. Cooper "mt man": Great quality, very strong to use in mixing. I ordered 2 just to be on the safe side. I do a lot of cooking.Good strong whisk.
C. Harmsen "Carl In NJ": I didn't think I could use a metal whisk on my Circulon Pots but Customer Service told me that yes I can.Good thing, becuase I bought this whisk and it is weak. Metal chisk works much better.
Christopher: My wife can destroy anything in the kitchen. She leaves the metal whisk in standing water causing it to rust and she uses the whisk in my nice pots and pans (which are luckily anodized rather than teflon coated). This whisk saves all of that trouble with its durable nylon making it easy to use and easy to clean and keep looking nice. Just don't leave it sitting in a hot pan for very long.
