Gordon M. Wagner: We needed a larger toaster and this one is PERFECT! It looks great, it has space for four slices of toast or waffles or bagels or whatever, and it toasts PERFECTLY!!! It has two features that I really love, one is for frozen breads, it somehow knows to defrost them and then toast them, and the other is a "bagel" setting which toasts only one side of the item your place in the slots! It's easy to clean with two little crumb trays that come out of the sides. It looks cool, it works great, the price wasn't bad... what a great buy!!!!!!
Hope Hilandera: This toaster is beautiful. The brushed metal obscures fingerprints yet it's relatively easy to clean. It looked terrific on the counter.Unfortunately, that's where the good part ends. DeLonghi is usually a reliable, high-quality maker, so the "bad" was surprising. The bread never gets crisp; the crumb catcher is difficult to remove; it's as light as a feather, and feels "tinny," even cheap. Mine broke within seven months of use, so it's not very durable, nor worth its ridiculous price. If I hadn't tossed my 30-year-old Astra--which was still working fine--I'd have tossed this one and used the Astra instead. That's what I get for letting myself be seduced by a pretty face.
Patrick Carroll "Winebibber. Java/JEE Develo...: ...in quality, not price. The brushed-metal looks cheap and the plastic handles complete the impression. All in all, this looks like a plastic toaster. I passed on it and got the VillaWare Retro 4 Slice toaster instead. The VillaWare's not a Dualit, but it's way better than this thing, for just a little more.
Rik "Rik": I purchased this toaster for it's retro styling. It's feel is rather cheap, it's performance is uneven and it's quite the spacehog. Previously had a Krups with two elongated slots ... so it could handle four standard slices or two long slices (like the incredible sliced Calandra my household loves). I should have stuck with the Krups until another two slot four slice came along. I'm back in the market again.
